Using Mission Planner ? Using Arduino ? No matter which way you did it, the ATMega2560 Bootloader would NOT be affected even if the update failed, and the USB is handled by ATMega32u2 which is NOT affected by firmware upgrade, USB should connect just fine and be recognized by PC even if the firmware update failed - so it can be done again. A failed firmware update may mean Mission Planner can't do normal connect and display but since bootloader is NOT affected it is NOT DEAD You can try to upgrade firmware again using Mission Planner - NOTE you do NOT CLICK CONNECT ON MISSION PLANNER TO DO FIRMWARE UPDATE - it connects itself to the in Mission Planner when performing firmware update so long as in Mission Planner top right you have selected the correct COM Port and baud rate is 115200 BEFORE you start firmware update... You can try using Mission Planner to upgrade firmware. Shut down mission planner. Disconnecting USB wait 10 seconds Reconnect USB Using device Manager see if USB is recognized by PC and determine which COM Port is assigned to ArduFlyer 2.5 Observe COM Ports in Device Manager and see which new COM Port pops up when you connect ArDuFlyer 2.5 USB and observe that same COM Port disappear when you disconnect USB Having determined the correct COM Port - leave USB plugged in. Run Mission Planner - DO NOT CLICK ON CONNECT - just make sure the correct COM Port is select and the baud rate is 115200 Then perform firmware update again - click Firmware TAB etc. |

Today I started playing with Rate/Acro mode...just in my back yard. I ended up sticking with the stock Rate Kp of .1500, Enabled attitude hold, and dropped my Pitch (something or other) down to 0 to prevent it from trying to level itself with stick neutral. Felt pretty good in a confined space...open field testing will confirm if I'm good to go as set up.
My question is why is there a Acro Kp and a Rate Kp? I understand Rate Kp as that's similar to all my other FCs. I can't find anything on what the Acro Kp does, why it's there, and what to look for when/if adjusting it. Any clarifications? edit: Never mind...I just found it: The Acro_P parameter is used to map the control sticks to the desired rate of rotation. For example a value of 4 will be multiplied by 45° (max stick input) to equal 180° per second rotation. Lower the Acro_P value to get slower rotations. |

After a crash resulting in snow all over the flight controller yesterday, today the throttle goes up by it self.
If I give just a little throttle it does just that for about 10 sec, and then drastically throttles up. Pulling the throttle stick back down only turns the motors off and does not reduce throttle. Did I break the board with the snow or might it be something that can be fixed? (I have already recalibrated the esc:s and radio) |
