Help!

Help repair SONY PZ0420 camera

Hello,

I'm trying to repair this cam : PZ0420 600TVL SONY SUPER HAD CCD D-WDR that has broke the component showed in the attached picture after a bad landing, the other pic is where is located on the pcb.

I don't know what is this component , it seems that is a quartz clock but i'm not sure and neither what is the value of it.

Can anybody help me to find another one?

Thanks a lot.

It is a quartz crystal, either 28.6363MHz for NTSC or 28.375MHz for PAL.

Your crystal doesn't look broken to me. Have you tried soldering it back onto the board?

Thank you Bruce for the response, the crystal of the pic is from another cam and didn't work it on the pz0420

I can only find smd versions of the PAL xtal (eg. ABM8-28.375MHZ-B2-T). This is still usable - you just have to solder a pair of wire leads onto it.

I have the same camera. When I bought it I got an additional cable to avoid chopping up the original. Cut that cable in two, crimped on a servo connection, connected it up, and nothing. Then I realised that the colours in the additional cable are reversed from the original, with the result that I'd plugged my 12v line into the video signal pin.

I can't get the camera to do anything now. Is it stuffed or is there likely to be something fixable, maybe a tiny fuse or something?
