Thread OP
I hope I never have to deal with water slide decals (of that quality at least) ever again, the lightning bolts were literally in 10 pieces before they were in the right location.

I'm looking for the plan of the hacker kit as the kit itselfs seems out of production now.
I got one out of an attic cleaning and it flies very well on single channel 2.4 gear i made myself.
For repair purposes and possibly making another one, i'm looking for this plan.
Anyone?

I'm sure I have the plans laying around somewhere still, but I don't have access to anything larger than an A4 scanner. I'm not sure stitching the plans together out of smaller scans will be good enough. These kits occasionally pop up on ebay, a saved search with an alert should notify you if that's an option.

I'd be Happy with a series of 8 1/2 x 11 (A4 ish) scans.
Stitching them together accurately is a simple procedure .

Re: Build Log Hacker Piper J-3C Cub

Thank you for your swift reply!

I agree that stitching a plan together from A4 sheets often gives less desirable results.
But as it is, I think I can reconstruct something good enough to begin with, as I'm having the model here to check against. And if youíre using ~2ď overlap it will be good enough.
I saved my model from an attic cleaning.
It deviates slightly (built up stabilizer instead of with laminated edges), extra stringers in the rear sides and closed cabin sides, but it's obviously the same design. All I know it was built by a Czech guy, but nothing else.
Mine is ready to fly 250 grams and flies nice and slowly, like a Free Flight, diesel powered model. I run a unknown 2S outrunner in it.
No aillerons as it didnít have them in the first place and it would make it too much of a contemporary RC model anyway and thatís exactly what I didnít have in mind.
I like it best as a Free Flight Radio Assist model. 20 deg. of bang-bang rudder, 5 mm Ďkick-upĎ (up only) elevator and a 4 positor motor control. The latter is sequential (0-60%-100%-40%-0-60%-100%-etc.)
The radio is homebuilt, inspired by the guys on this forum: http://www.mode-zero.uk/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=63

My own Tx (FrSky 2,4 DHT module plus my own twist on Phil_Gís Arduino program)
Parts and lay out:

The finished product:

I redid the wing attachment as with every cartwheel on rough terrain I had some damage.
Now the wings are sitting on two 2mm pianowire stubs with the dihedral bent in.
The receptacles in the wings are two pieces of aluminium tubing, 2 mm inner dism.
All epoxied to the spars and an extra former I made to keep the rear spar connector in place.
The struts have tiny hooks that are kept together by an even tinier rubber band that runs through a rolled and doped tissue tube across the fuselage.
This keeps the wings on the wire stubs, but it is flexible enough to give way in case of a prang.
Good for some relaxed, hand-in-the-pocket flying :

Apologies for not making any pictures while constructing, but I was in a hurry for the next
flying session:

So would I....
Scans converted to JPG would be fine as well.
