Santa Maria RC
first, Thanks to all for this great Forum !!
I read long here with without something to write because mine is very bad in English, especially if I must write, several ideas and technologies took, but now I would like to try it.
This is my Santa Maria, built from a plan of a Russian Shipmodelersite.
Length: 106 cm
Beam : 21 cm
Maiden was in March 2012 and now she sails fine.
Here a few pictures
Greetings from Germany
Please tell us about the rc setup. Don't worry about your English, I Know it's better than my German :-). Photos of the rc gear would work too, if you have some before you put the deck on.
What sorts of things did you have to do to make her sail better?
Thanks again for posting here!
thx for the kind words
I have only 1 winch for both sails (main and fore), the mizzen sail is fixed.
I have changed the following things for better sailing:
changed the rudder area (much bigger)
more yard swinging
deeper and bigger keel for less leeway
now she sails fine, also against the wind
here a few pictures without hatch
Greetings from germany
