Question

What do you do with a new brushless motor before you use it for the first time?

What do you typically do and check when you receive a new “inexpensive” brushless motor prior to use? A little light oil on the bearings, make sure it spins freely, solder or re-solder the wires? Would you do anything else prior to spooling it up for the first time?

Straight up is all I ask
It should be good to go , no break in necessary . Just a quick test to see if it's turning in the right direction .

Do these small motors use vaseline or some grease for lubricating? incase they do, wouldnt that oil flush/melt the grease out of the bearing?

I don't do anything. Like jmolwitz, I check to make sure that they are turning the right direction, then let 'em rip!!!

You must first hold it over your head and dance in a circle , three times to the left , four times to the right , or is it four times to the left . Then install it and have FUN .
