Also I know that hoards of RCG readers have been energized by the T-38 project. I know I`m one of them.

So, what will the next "Big One" be, and who will build it? What are some good candidates for a huge EDF. It will most likely be a twin of some kind due to the limitations of our current power systems.

More wing area and larger intakes will help with performance and will allow as much as 20kw to be used effectively. Two 14s 200a systems will do that much power.

I know everyone has their favorites. I`ll throw out a few of mine.

Me 262
Sukoi PAK FA

I can`t undertake a build of that magnitude right now, but I hope that I have the opportunity to do it someday.
As cool as they are I can't handle/transport a large plane like that either.
Besides I'm about to start on my MiG 19, which will be large for me as I'm stepping up into 90mm for the first time.

A B-58 with 90mm fans would be huge and the power systems wouldn't be out there on the outer edge of EDF technology.

Another really smokin' hot twin jet would be a Yak 28.
Relatively simple design with the engines out on the wings would give an empty fuse to work with. Making hardware and electronics installation a snap. Lots of wing area too.
Coupling a rarely/never modeled jet with a large build would really make you famous.

How about a giant scale Saab Viggen with working thrust reversers ? You don't see a lot of those around and they look mega cool and unique ..

I had built a Viggen about thirty years ago. It was around 6ft long. I forget it was so long ago. I made the plug and a mold. In those days we only had the Byron ducted fans so was a pig on power. Once I finish up my current molds I'm doing the plugs for a really super detailed 6ft EF 2000 Typhoon. I'm doing the tandem version and have already started the frames stations. I will have to wait until the first fuse and wing come out and figure the weight. Then choose the power plants. I will be making my own Thrust vector nozzles within a bearing gimble

I looked at this before, and it didn't ring a bell either. Time for a search, this might be it?

Well, it`s not a twin, and it doesn`t do much for me. But to each his own.

Well I really wouldnt call it a foamie I have been on and off of the project for a while now and blew up my templates and plans to the size I wanted and built it around 2 ramtec fans but here goes. Its 10 pounds right now and is 110 inches from nose to tail built from 100s of photos of the full scale and I used a 1/48th scale model for the cross sections. Ladies and Gents.... the Berkut. This pic is a few weeks old and I am having trouble getting these pics from the phone to the computer.

If anyone wants me to post a build thread let me know thanks
