Test flight went great, airplane flies beautifully as if on rails . will be doing video next flight and hopefully water tests later in the week as well if wind lays down. will post video when completed. Only have one set of batteries so basically one flight per outing and two hours on charger
Great stuff Jeff, look forward to seeing some video and more pics

Some more beautiful flying today. Did some good water taxi testing earlier in the week but wind conditions were bad and water rough. That being said taxi testing still went pretty well and high speed step taxiing was very successful and controllable. "Flying"on the surface was very promising , being able to steer on water with aileron and elevator banked turns as well as water rudder only steering. Water flights in the next couple days and then on to stall testing and determining spin resistance in preparation for full scale prototype. Video coming soon

Sorry guys for no updates , life intervened as they say, Happy to report model is alive, well and kicking. Flies beautifully and behaves terrifically on the water. Should be in attendance at both SEFF and the Nall. Here are a couple pics after painting it finally a year ago.

Nice work and interesting inputs ............... have you seen the Russian designed twin that uses a hybrid V/T tail the V element effectively supporting a high T. what do you think was the rational for the layout?

Convergent evolution is inevitable given that form is reflection of function.....In engineering as in nature you can only go so far in re inventing a wheel and given the conservative nature of the market as well as the design needs.. unless you went get really radical say like a canard... lol -given your user name, you are bound to find comparisons and parallels the operating environments force similar solutions on the design if its to work.

That said the ultralight /light homebuild area is one traditionally of great design fertility and a constant source of surprises and inspiration

It seems a very competitive field .. I wish you every luck in your plans.
Interesting and valuable that you are using your RC model to develop your design ................... have you seen this guy on U tube he built his light amphibian based on his favorite model?
