aluminum .020" side panels cut easily with some old scissors. 80 grit made quick work of the lower cowl shaping.

the build article suggests I dope on some tissue paper to seal the balsa cowl. any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. i bought some aerogloss clear, which i believe is the correct stuff.

Nice work, TC !

The nose area looks like it will be interesting to get covered. As I said in my PM, I would use fiberglass cloth to seal it up. In the PM I suggested using dope, but maybe epoxy finishing resin would be a better choice.

Nice Job

Texas, This is Dylon. Very nice build. It's moving along nicely. Have you started the wing at all? I'll book mark this follow the build. Good Job.

Yeah, the nose itself has been a lengthly task.

Can you point me towards a particular brand so I'm looking for the correct stuff?

edit: it looks like Z-Poxy might be what you are talking about. that sounds stronger than doped tissue. I've heard these like to nose-over.

No wing action just yet. I'll start it after I square away my three servos and tail linkages.

z-poxy is what I use. For a smaller area, like this, 30 minute epoxy, thiinnned with denatured alcohol, would work. It may be a little harder to sand, though.

Zpoxy, fiberglass cloth, 4 cans of paint, two glow plugs, and $85 later I'm set for covering the fuselage and sealing the engine compartment. Yikes!

Here's an unusual scheme, although it is scale, for a DVIII.

Hmmm, if I only build a top wing with my fuselage...would it be a D-7.5?

Like the colors

Texas, I like to see you put an original color scheme to the plane. The one you drew would be very personal. I like it
