I have my friends D Model and it also has that flex with the wing off but hes been flying it with no problems and hes even got a bigger motor in it.

The flex seems to be in the middle of the fuse. I wouldnt worry about it.

I'm not going to speculate if the flex will become an issue? If so, some CF reinforcement wouldn't be a hard mod to do.

Its because the area where the servos are its very thin layer of foam on the bottom of the plane and yes wouldnt hurt to add some carbon to stiffen it up

I think if the plane is flown stock it's ok as is, but on 5s with prop mod, carbon fiber flats on the sides and a keel beam would help a lot.

Here's a poor mans fix.

I offer a word of caution!

I started on my PZ-312 to PZ-514 conversion this morning and discovered the problem with the V7.5 P-51D's 4mm grub screw indention has not been fixed! I was under the impression FMS had addressed this problem already, but I guess not, as my P-51B has the same flaw.

Gary,

Why not take Mike's idea one step further. Fill in the drilled hole with JB weld. Then after it cures file a flat on it. I would think it would be the best of both worlds. My 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Mine (P-51D v7) broke on the second landing even though it was a greaser, the side loading from the crosswind caused one to snap.

That's ridiculous. FMS spends so much time and effort on the rest of the plane and can't stop drilling a hole, in a critical part, WAY deeper than it needs to be?

I totally eliminated the 4mm pins and installed a set of 5mm pins instead.
