So overall - yes - of course
Of course fighting an enemy makes that enemy angry.

Unfortunately, ignoring the enemy does not make the enemy go away.

What a convoluted mindset.

The Taliban (and Muslims in general) were murdering, torturing & oppressing women and girls long before the U.S.A. got involved.

I had a similar discussion with a local whack liberal.
It came down her being sooooo concerned about how we were destroying the Arab/Islamic culture.
My response: Any culture that enslaves it's women like they do needs to be destroyed.
She had no reply.

At least one MSM reporter speaks to the truth....
Quote:
CBS’ Lara Logan, a 60 Minutes correspondent who was sexually assaulted while reporting on the protests in Tahrir Square in February 2011, told a Chicago audience over the weekend that not only is AQ not “on its heels,” it’s making a comeback, along with the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan — and that those saying otherwise are propagating a “major lie”
.....................
“There is this narrative coming out of Washington for the last two years,” Logan said. It is driven in part by “Taliban apologists,” who claim “they are just the poor moderate, gentler, kinder Taliban,” she added sarcastically. “It’s such nonsense!”

Logan stepped way out of the “objective,” journalistic role. The audience was riveted as she told of plowing through reams of documents, and interviewing John Allen, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan; Afghan President Hamid Karzai, and a Taliban commander trained by al-Qaida. The Taliban and al-Qaida are teaming up and recruiting new terrorists to do us deadly harm, she reports.

I suggest reading it again. It doesn't say what you think it says. Converting people to Islam has nothing to do with the ''why do we fight you'' question.

Why do you think Muslims in the middle east stopped fighting Russia and started fighting us?

a) because Russia no longer invades the middle east. We do.

b) they gave up trying to convert the Russians to Islam, and thought we would be more likely to convert?

If you don't fight the enemy there is no enemy.

You forgot a big one:

c) they hate us for our freedoms.

I've read that here as to why. Many times. A president may have even said it.

I wonder which one. Of course that theory would be consistent with Muslims in the middle east ceasing their attacks on the Russians, and starting to attack the US instead. Because we all know Russians had more freedoms under the Soviet regime than they do now.
