I was wondering how the heck you could have missed it, but replied anyway.

D_FAST.... I went out to Cherry Creek with a co-worker. Guess what happened on my second flight...

I had a total glitch on the north west quadrant of the field. Lost my A-10 and it went down. Broke my fuse in half. Left my wing in 3 pieces, broke my nacelles, landing gear, and horizontal stab. Its repairable but will take some time to fix. I think all my critical components are ok. Barely any warning. I flew a foamy trainer around a few more times with no issue just to be sure my radio wasn't weird.

Initial take off was great and first few passes were ok and then.....

About 15 minutes later another gentlemen had a blazing comet speed impact directly west of the main runway. All we heard was a "wump". Everything gone except the magnets for the canopy. Felt bad for him and I helped him clean things up. Most the other guys out there got spooked and sat on their hands but the other flights seemed ok.

I was flying a 2.4 radio and the other guy was using spectrum.

Total bummer...

Total bummer indeed!

I'm currently trying to swap everything to receiver battery. I do believe all mine would have been recoverable or totally avoided if i still had control.

As far as cherry creek i guess its a gamble, fly at your own risk.

Ive been threw all my gear range tested all the hk orange, my spectrum, most pace off above 30 paces, some hit 100 with there satellites. Tested and tested, none of my gear seamed to overheat or had any ill effects.

I think I solved my mystery brown out issue. I got things repaired and took it out to a turf field to test out. The turf field requires a longer takeoff due to the added friction. At about the end of the runway same thing happened..... Motors just idled down and she rolled to a stop. None of my input controls would work. As I got closer to it, everything picked back up again. I swapped the batteries to be sure that wasn't the problem. I flew two other models on the same Tx (different rx's) without issue... and I flew them high. Looks like the turf field saved my bacon.

So I guess the mystery brown out issue was just a bad receiver... I'm still going to test some other components but I think that solves it.

I'm still planning what you are starting to do by moving everything over to a receiver battery. My Lifepo batteries should be hear any day now.

Cant say that i am sad though. Frogfoots a good name. She jumps right into the sky.
53oz ship that only needs 10ft of runway to get air born! It puts a huge grin on my face.

She doesn't sound all that bad for 6 blades

It was getting late in the day, sun right in the back leg of the patterns, windy. i took no chances, and cut the flights short.
I got freaked out on the 2nd set as i lost her in the sun for a sec and just let her come out thankfully she was right side up!

1st flight was with a 2950mah 35c, 2nd was with a 3300mah 45c nano, I firmly believe i can get a 4000mah in her and get 5min flight times.

Su-39 6-6-2013 (5 min 28 sec)

Ive begun the work of converting ship # 2 for a single 80mm on 6s
this will give me all the room i need for retracts.
Inlet FSA at current scale should work pretty good @ 108%
The exhaust will be reworked for 90% FSA bifurcated

Sweet I was scared for ya, every time you headed for the sun I was holding my breath It can be brutal flying with the sun out front like that, especially if you don't have some good shade's on. She look's good in the air.

Scoured the interweb last night couldn't find any dimensional data on the jetfan80. I got the delta-32 data. What other 80's are on the market. Any help is appreciated.

There is a Stumax 80, but I don't know the dimensions for it and i don't know if Stuart has updated his website with them.

Eric B.

Most probably the Jetfan would be a drop in fit for the Eflite.
