Question

Anyone order from banana hobby?

I seen they have plenty of ARFs for under $70. Are they well made ARFs or cheap? Also how is banana hobbies customer service? I love the micro edf jets and at a price around $50 I'd like to grab a couple. But I just dont want to buy them and they end up being crap.

Some say BH customer service is great, some say BH customer service stinks. The same goes for the product. It's a roll of the dice and it depends on your expectations and current quality control. BH is not the only vender, but it also depends on what manufacturer product you are looking at. the micro jets are available at:

www.hobbyb.com (Kits, ARFs, plug and play)
www.toysonics.com (ARFs, plug and play)
www.bananahobby.com (arfs, plug and play)

I have not had bad customer service with them. My kit was missing parts and were promptly replaced. The planes are decent IF you buy just the airframe and put your own electronics in.

You have a very good point, but these are ARFs if that makes a difference. I'm just looking for a good edf that's RxR and isn't gonna crumble into a 1000 pieces if I have a mishap. Thanks for the replies though.

Get one made from EPO foam, for durability. Look for one you like, then see if there is a thread here on RCG for that specific airframe (by searching the forums). If a thread says people like it, it's probably good to go. A thread with most bad mouthing an airframe don't buy it! Seems most airframes do get a thread BTW, so check it out first. $50-70.00 does pan out sometimes, but can go either direction.

I have 4 jets that came from BH. Takes anywhere from 3 days to over a week to ship, not complaining just stating my experience. Just as others have said, hit and miss on quality. Customer service is anywhere from non existent to ok if you have lots of patience.

I order with the expectation of receiving a plane as is. All but one jet was fine but waited almost two months for a replacement servo defective out of box on one of my jets. I should have just bought one. Having said this I plan on ordering more jets from them. At these prices you just can not have everything, and for the money I am pleased and would recommend BH with the above footnotes.

Ok thank you bps. I'm looking at the mug 15, the sabre, the f15 and the t45. Can I use orangerx415 with these planes and what discharge plug does the battery need to have? I use a dx6i that's why I'm asking about the OrangeRx.

yeah..i use the orange R415 in my F-86 Sabre...works great. usually these smaller edf's esc will come with the red JST connector...& (most) of the smaller batteries will also have this JST connector !!

Ok I just ordered 2 OrangeRx415s and the HK Eco 6-10a bal, charger, and discharged. Next purchase I think will be a mig 15. But man hobby king really gets you on shipping. I like their prices but hate that it came from the overseas warehouse.

If I wanted to change all my 2s and 3s batteries what would be a good discharge plug to switch them all to? Right now I have the micro deans and my new batteries that I ordered are the jst plugs stated above.
