Hangar 9 P47 Thunderbolt 60

Any suggestions on a engine for this plane. Thinking zenoah 20ei, dle20, saito 100. Any suggestions will help and any suggestions on radio and servos will be appreciated. It also will have electric retracts. This is a new build so any previous builders of this aircraft feel free to chime in. I also would like to run a 4 blade prop if anybody has had a setup like that please assist.

A 20cc gas engine is an excellent fit for this plane. Won't need an after-market muffler, either. I have a 5 year-old H-9 P-47 with an rcgf 20, but would recommend the DLE as a better choice. Flies great and lands smoothly. Terrific airplane.

The rcgf likes a 16x6. The DLE uses a 16x8.

I have three of the H9 fighters all running .91 4-strokes. The power is good enough to get you out of trouble if needed. That 1.00 would be about right. All of mine came in under 9 lbs which helped a lot with the landing. The stock gear holds up ok at that weight. At 10lbs or over the stock gear dont do too good. But for good yahoo fun flyin, a 20cc should do it.

I have an OS .91 Surpass 2 in mine, and I find it a little (just a little) lacking in ummmph...If I we're to change it out I'd like to try a Saito 115 in it...
I have a DLE-20 in another plane that's 2lbs heavier and it hauls, so was apprehensive in putting it in the Jug...I think it'd be overkill, but it might be fun to try....

Many years back I tried an experiment in a Rascal110 that I'd been running a saito 1.20 in. I put in a rcgf 20cc gasser. Performance wise it was almost exactly the same as far as power. The only difference was the added weight. I couldnt thermal anymore with the gasser. In a warbird, I would think a 20cc would do fine, but you gotta keep the structural strength in mind when putting a gasser in.

Considering putting a DLE-20 in mine also. Was planning to go electric but now considering my first gas plane... I refuse to mess with nitro but gas I can do.
