Original Astro Hog Plans wanted

Hi All, Heading says it all. I think they were M.A.N. plans???? Also produced
by a kit manufacture, but can not remember who.

http://www.outerzone.co.uk/download_...lan.asp?ID=969 I downloaded this first to see if it's OK. In PDF form, should be able to print out in tiled form. Hope this helps.

There are several differences between the Original plans and those presented by Sig.
The originals were in a 1958 M.A.N.,I believe.
Notable differences are Ailerons, gear, the stabilizer under the fuse, and wing and stab secured by rubber bands.

I have a set in the mail of unknown manufacture, hopefully the originals..They should be here early next week.

The original had wood aileron hinges,on 'barndoor' ailerons, and you made your own tailwheel bracket from a tin can.

I'll keep you posted.

The outerzone plans,by Berkeley may be copies of the originals.

Those cloth 's' hinges were standard fare in R/C's infancy...And they did affect response, much as we 'seal' hinge gaps today..

They were usually doped into position on assembly, then painted with the model.

I like the aileron hinges, made from wood, with a steel pin.

The tailwheel bracket is it's own masterpiece.

I have an Astro Hog that was started by a late friend ages ago. It will be finished this winter, Lord willing, and finally see light under the wheels. It's a Sig one, but it's still a beautiful model.
