Here is a shot of my black EPP Weasel right out of the box... no real gaps between wing and fuse. The fit is good but not perfect; however I think when I sand down the excess mold flashing it will fit even better.

P.S. I have to love the silver autograph on the left side fuse.

The excess mold from the wing or from the inside where the wing sits ?

Ready for maiden

But...

35gr of lead on the nose isn't it much ? Total weight with lead in front is 12,4oz which is within recommended values.

I didn't even taped it all over as recommended. Only tape behind cg is in the fin and total weight of fin is 14gr

Any ideas ?

Heli is collecting dust after I got onto sailplanes.

Hey Bakkie, I am sure you haven't read the manual, at least the last pages... Where it says not to fly over or into people. I can't remember if it mentions animals though... :banghead:

That weight looks real good. Go throw it off of something and fly it!
Have a great weekend,

Maiden

Finally was able to maiden my new Wease todayl.
Did a nosedive twice, then I tweeked the settings a little, now it floats around like its really happy.
This is my first glider and first try to fly a RC plane. What fun.
Great wing Michael now I'm hooked.

Another maiden went on here. Weasel got wind under her wings and everything went uneventfully.

Actually today, it was her 3rd flight and more succesfull one.

Two first flights lacked the "decent slope" but managed ok. Today went at the right slope. Winds at 14-18knots and I had to add 20gr of ballast to penetrate.

I was up for 30mins and I could still be flying, if some works back at home could wait. 10mins out of that 30, was a side by side flying with a buzzard. Just amazing. Loops and rolls were ok, but it seems to keep lots of down when inverted. What a nice whistle a weasel can make, I wasn't expecting that.

All over, I had great fun with it. And I am sure more is coming. Unfortunately I was alone, so no flying pics. Just the slope and the landingl zone, which is kind of tight. Oohh managed a couple of hand catches at the first 2 flights on the non decent slope.

I was starting to get a bit obsessed about weights, as mine came out at 12,8oz, knowing that df has said its sweet weight is 12oz.

After todays flying I guess I have to reconsider.

Though the wind was barely blowing (maybe 5knots), I went up the slope and tossed the Weasel away. It struggled a bit, but gave me 2 half an hour flights. Not anything fansy, but some figure 8s and a some rolls. One thing that made things worse, was that the wind was marginally blowing from the correct direction. 020deg is the more eastern we could fly there and it was varying from 020 to 030

One more fun day with the Weasel...!

Ohhh... I managed to get her down to 12,5oz

Here you go, my first Weasel video. The flag windsock idea was stolen from Bakkie.

Enjoy
