Great Planes Sukhoi Su-31 25%

Hello everyone, I'm new to the sport and I now have the bug and can't stop buying planes. I need help though. I just had this SU-31 built and want to know if the recevier and transmitter are adequate for this plane. I have a spectrum DX7-S with the AR8000 receiver. The servos are JR8611. Dual servos on both tail surfaces. If I eventually fly this plane 3D will it be too much for the recevier to handle. Please forgive me if I did not give enough details. Please advise.

The receiver should be great, its one of Spektrums best and is their "high speed" variety. The servos should also be good, digital and high torque.

I just flew my new to me 25% Extra this weekend with DX8 and AR8000 with Hitec digital high torque servos. One other thing to mention I used a 6.6v LiFE A123 receiver pack, the higher voltage and high discharge capability of the pack worked great. The plane was super responsive although I havent tried any real 3D yet.

Thanks for the info. I was told that the receiver probably couldn't handle the load if too much was going on at once. I'm running a 6 volt 4500 for it. Is a 4.8 ok for the ignition module. I have a DA-50. I read that a 4.8 and 6.0 work fine for this engine

The 4.8 on the ignition is fine, the ignition is designed for either or. If an ignition battery poops out on you the worst thing that happens is you have a dead stick landing.
Really, the worst thing for me if one goes out and I don't know it is my arm gets tired trying to start it!! Doesn't take me too long to figure out I have a bad pack though. I can't keep flipping like I used to.

Thanks for the info. I have one more question. I have the drill guide for the prop. Does this require a drill press or does the guide keep it straight enough?

drill press is not necessary, but I would use one (or have someone with one to drill those holes). A prop that isn't drilled correctly can make installing the bolts difficult.
