Hey Pekos have you checked the weight of the empty fuselage yet? Just curious about what's the weight of a ply and balsa plane this size. My 1/6 L-39 empty fuselage was 3000 grams and is way smaller than yours.

For a plane that big that's awesome!! Should weight around 20-22 pounds with 14s and a 120 fan easily if not less. With its size it should float really nice.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to explain even a little bit. Clearly your Sketchup skills are at a very high level!

Pekos, outstanding work!

@ Billo,SergeyK
Im trying come to grasp more with this style of building, Here is a simple vid of how im gonna approach it.

Create Skin/3dmodel
Create formers/Stations
Create Splines
Create Stingers/spine
Create knockouts/lightening holes

wow, very interesting work, I am a beginner and I draw everything by hand. I draw without thickness, because the complicated image saving up computer performance.

Dan, that looks great, I see where you're going.

Pekos, that is such a beautiful drawing. But when you cut the parts on the laser cutter, how does the machine know how wide to cut the slots where the parts intersect if there is no thickness?

I am a beginner too, and I had to discover things as I went along, that's why I'm interested what others came up with.

I drew with the thickness as it helped me visualize the complete model
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1442267

And I had to manually clone each part and drag it to a separate area and arrange on a flat plane to print out.

Did you manually draw the lightening holes on each rib separately or used tome kind of shortcut ?

It was just one way and was done on the most simplest of geometry, but like billo said you get the workflow.. The biggest is getting your wing loading, fsa, etc... All calculated then build your model. Then begin your RC conversion using slices and such. Placing electronics, etc along the way.

And yes use mirror and array to speed up work flow.
