Seriously? After how many years of supplying O2 to pilots we are now having problems. Something sounds fishy to me, Is Mr Obama involved with this?

They have an independent oxy system instead using bleed air from the engine. This is supposed to protect against chem/bio attacks.

OBOGS has been in use in different airframes for YEARS. The system is well understood, so why the continued problem with it in the (C)Raptor?

The F-22 program is under enormous financial pressure because we chose to produce so few of them and our allies are buying more F-15s instead of F-22s.

This pilot oxygen problem would normally be taken care of in subsequent versions but since we will only get one version it is causing a big problem now.

Wow. 60 minutes. Now there's a believable source. Look what they did to the Audi while the Chevy Citation continued to run into things at will; look what they did to single engine Gen Av with their truthful reporting.

Not a huge fan of 60 minutes to be sure .... But this is a real problem. But not an unusual one. I'm surprised its making such huge waves when previous airframes have had growing pains as well.

66.7 Billion for the program. 150 Million each. Only used for airshow demonstrations.

On the plus side, during training in Alaska, they maintained a 173-0 kill ratio ! (war games I guess).

Raptor cough.

The F22 seems to be afflicted with F 14 Sickness!

Great aeroplane when it works - spends most of its time not working!

One Raptor V one SU37 and it'd be close

One Raptor V three and it'd be all over!

I heard they're not as bad as F14's from an ex Air Force mech.

I dunno-with the F22's avionics and networking capability, the opponents might never get in sight.

Frankly I am amazed Mr Obama hasn't put a stop to this entire program. Just think how many cell phones he could be buying his voters for the cost of each plane?

While I do like aircraft I believe that the F22 is probably one of the biggest wastes of taxpayer dollars, ever.

$190 million dollars a piece? I am pretty sure that you could buill 300 very fast jet powered "kamikaze drones" for the price of this one jet. The drones could be used for testing, training and the like and then use up their life by being crashed into an enemy aircraft or other target. You can put missles on these drones, too, which is the way that most dog fights have been one for the last 50 years.

We have enough weapons systems. If we quit trying to "save" 3rd world cultures from tyranny and defelop our own domestic oil supply we can cut our defense budget by more than 50%.

Well that is plan A but who honestly (particularly us who have been in the military here) has ever witnessed 'Plan A' go well

The latest SU's are 'formidable'
