That's why banks put phone numbers and transaction numbers on the checks they cut so you can call and verify that it is a good check.

You still are skirting the question of whether or not you sold it to someone else before or after you made the deal with him.

So when did you contact him to tell him you had a problem with his payment method? Before or after you sold it to someone else? Ever hear of Business Ethics?

That's the easy one, it seems he never contacted the buyer just sent a letter which hasn't been received yet. Buyer found out when he called the seller.

Why is it so hard to answer the question of when you decided to sell to someone else, so far the only thing fishy I'm seeing is your hesitation to answer a simple question. Is the answer going to show shady business practices?

Nothing to read into it. If my customer sends me a check and I question it's validity I handle it appropriately. This means contacting the customer and verifying the funds. You did neither. I wish you luck with your business. Just some business advice from someone who is working 7 days a week because he can barely keep up with the workload. That's the result of doing things properly!

You're right you can run your business how you want, but i don't know anyone that would agree that you handled this situation properly. At the very least the customer deserved some sort of communication to let him know what was going on right away not waiting for a letter to make it to him. But that's just my two cents.

well glad to see more people agree with me, I fail to see how I was in the wrong with this seller.

Personally, I think he had sellers remorse or something else, whatever it may be, we may never know.

Hopefully the seller in the future will at least attempt to contact the buyer something like this happens again, if he doesn't then good luck to anyone that decides to buy from him.
