30cc SlipStream MXS

Hi all...I just got the Slipstream 30 CC MXS...

I will say this is a nice model out of the box for a 250 dollar model.

Wanted to know if anyone knew if the stock stand offs for a dle 30 where going to be to long?

I think they very well maybe. You'll have to measure and see. I have the goldwing version and I had to cut mine to 30 mm and a hole in the fire wall.
Can you post some pictures.

i just got the model yesterday...

Took the model out of the box and noticed the motor box was much longer then the plane i am taking the DLE 30 from. That is what made me ask the question on the standoff.

I did Start drilling the wings and the elevator for Robart Hinges. The plane comes with the cheap Ca hinges and I just don's trust that on a plane larger then a .40 since nitro.

I got the scheme A version which is the green one with the black and white checkers on it....

i will try to post some pics tonight...

Ok thanks.
On my Goldwing MX I had to fiberglass and 5 minute epoxy the motor box and fire wall.
I then had to cut a hole out in the fire wall.
Of course it might be and is easier just to add alittle litght ply to the inside of the motor box and move the fire wall back. That way you'll be able to use the stock stand off's and have the carb clearance and be able to tune it easy.

that looks amazingly like my green machine. Mine is a goldwing and came with cheap robart type hinges.
I do love the way she flys.
That motor box should be glassed for the DLE 30
Here are some pictures of my plane
The last 2 pictures are of the upright and inverted flat spin.
This plane really excels at flat spins

yep...they look almost the same... Slip stream did cut some corners to make it cheaper.

But i am excited to hear that she flies well...

i have been flying for years and I am just starting to learn some of the 3d moves.

I am hoping to have the plane ready in the next week...

here's my build thread for her though it doesn't show much of the fiberglassing

I took automotive fiberglass and 5 minute epoxy and went over my motor box.
It needs some glass on the bottom of the motor box and the fire wall/ gas tank bottom.
That DLE 30 can be hard on her.
Also I fiberglassed the landing gear formers and laminated over the fiberglass with 1/32 light ply. I also wrapped the landing gear block to the formers with fiberglass cloth as well.
This had made my undercarraige very very strong.

BTW I put these in the elevators and I just love them.http://www.hobbypartz.com/33p-solarservo-d770.html

I had to end up putting my throttle servo back by the rudder servo.

You didn't take any pictures did you ?
I can't wait till you fly her.
I've been alot easier on mine lately. mainly Imac style of flying. Lots of stall turns, flat spins, Knife Edge flight. Inside, outside loops. 3D stuff like waterfalls, hovering.
I've quit the extreme 3D moves like Knife Edge spins. Which mine with the carbon fiber wing tube., Just gets crazy.
I've quit after finding out just how much it twist the fuse and stuff. I found the vent tube pinched beteewn the canopy and fuse.
It's still awful tempting though.
I finally ended up balancing mine more on the wing tube.
She likes to come in a little hot. And there's a fair amount of wing rock in the harriers. Though I've been working with her on that and getting alot better. It seems moving the cg back really helps.

i can not wait to fly her as well...

I am not much of a 3d pilot, i am more into sports flying... i like low to the ground, fast hard knife edge turns...
i am trying to learn things like hanging from the prop and some basic 3d...

i should have some more pics up tonight to over the weekend...
