It looks as if he has taken the servo links off and fixed the kite directly to the mast via a plate. From the view of it banking it looks as if the kite bit stays fixed in place, in other words does not tilt or roll. Any ideas?

Perhaps he hasn't read https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1549977

Esp see the vids in post #96.

PS the kites turned up today at 1500. They weigh 200g :-( They will do to play with, but anything more permanent will have to be a lot lighter.

Are you saying that it wont work if it is just a fixed wing with no movement via servos?

Not saying that, it appears to work as you say, and it flies like you suggest. When compared with mark675's model, its flight is not so realistic or refined.

Those kites are probably worth the 4 just for the carbon tube. Incidendally does anyone know of the goodness of the budget priced carbon tube sold by Robotbirds? (Is this off topic or what? )

To Lazygit.
I have used a lot of the carbon fibre ie tube and rod in all sizes from Robotbirds the cheaper version with no problems.

Can you let me know how you plan to mount the kite onto an RPG please?

Plan?? Why the four letter words? I'm just going to make a plate (if I ever get a round-tuit) and attach it to the head.

Here you go another video from

Jacques in France not long uploaded onto FB, looks like he has just bolted a plate and fixed the kite to it. Seems to be fully moving and pretty simple to do.

Sorry for the off topic

Popped up to Traplet Towers this morning for a meeting regarding their version of the RPG (and a nice bunch of chaps they are too).
The issue brought up has been found and will be rectified with a few modifications that should improve things.

Hurrah, thats great news. The kite looks a bit larger than the one I have but I get the mounting system. Looks like its on the main cross bar. Actually, looking at the kite again, it is bigger and the carbon rods look very substantial compared to my cheap kite.
