If you're after a little more 'oomph' then I'd try a 7x6, not an 8x4 or 8x5. You'll find that the 8" props will give more off the mark but top out early, whereas the 7" props will lag a little at the start (and I mean a "little") but go faster and generally be more efficient.

If your wife is getting frustrated then try the good old 'your hand over mine' approach. Use a single transmitter and have her put her thumbs on the controls. Stand behind her and put your thumbs over hers. Control the transmitter through her - she doesn't move her thumbs, you do. She should get the idea - subtle, smooth, gentle movements. I liken them to first-timers as the movements you make with a pen when you're writing cursive.

Good to here the boys are doing well! Good on them!

Well

She managed to crash it, real good!

I will take some pictures when I get back home. Pearched it the power line behind the house and tore the leading edge all the way to the elevator. She said it hung up there for three days before it came down and it is a total loss

She said "It just started flying all funky and landed in the power lines"

She was out there on her own, eh? I say if she's still interested, build her another one.

I've lost a few to " flying all funky" as well. Build-fly-crash-repeat.

Ditto - if she's flying and enjoying... maybe she might like a go at building?
