Question

"Flying Clipper?"

I'm into RC aeros, nothing to do with model ships but love some of your beautiful builds Guys.
Just remembered, being in my early teen I think somewhere around '66 I have seen this this huge film in 'panoramatik' 70mm format with translation tittle, "Flying clipper". Can't remember much, but it was sort of adventure film on this large, I think 3 masted square rigger traveling around the globe and there was also some great sequence meeting some large US carrier with some deck action.
Love to see this movie again after some 45 years, any idea about the tittle or where it was made??? Joe.

"Mediterranean Holiday" maybe??

That's about the only film I can find that had a translated title as "Flying Clipper." It also has a lot of information about the 70mm format.

Gosh, where the hell did you get all this info!? Are you a movie buff? That's probably it, despite wrong translation. I have seen it in cinema in Bratislava I believe was one of those rare ones. It's starting to make sence as "Cleopatra" was done in same format and I seen that one in the same cinema, I remember falling in love with Liz after seeing it!
I think it will be a tough nut to crack to find a copy on VHS or DVD, Many Thanks Joseph.

I think it's not really a wrong translation, so much as it appears the film released in about 7 different versions, with different titles in different geographic areas. From what I can tell, in many areas it was released with a title that translated into English as "Flying Clipper."

I believe that you are going to have a VERY difficult time finding any way to watch this film today. There's some memorabilia available on Ebay, but I've had zero luck finding any source to actually get the film from.

It may be something that will take a very long time to try and find.

It APPEARS that the film is basically a remake of another film, called "Windjammer."

Oddly enough, "Windjammer" releases on Blu-Ray exactly one week from today.
