Speedactyl PX22-A

Speedactyl PX22-A

Succesor To Speedactyl Jet
update :
Changes:
EPP Material
an more sweptback wings may give a WS of 36inch
Addition of Ailerons
minor changes to the nose section
better structural materials
move back the motor Aft of the Main Wing to reduce noise and turbulence unless you want to grab attention
Lighter electronics
may try a different color scheme

setup

Tunigy 2211-2300

2s 350mah AUW 280g

2s 800mah AUW 300g

73.8 Prop on 2s

54 Prop on 3s

the PDF

PX22_A Maiden on Sept 09 2012

The maiden went pretty well performance came as close to my old bird except the ailerons no work . Since it’s a lighter plane compare to the original it handles more forgiving.

Grand fanally is the powered nose dive in to the ground by accident .. And survive to fly again in a few mins. Damage just minimal . A small fracture on the side but not that critical. thanks to the internal reinforcement in the nose cone and a lighter AUW

for those who want give this bird a try : Note: the plans are just reverse engineering drawings from the completed plane. since I build this plane w/o plans
PDF Drawings for those who want to give this bird a try

just share your pics or Vids when ever. thanks

an update note:

put BBQ sticks or CF rod from the Fuse to the nose in the internal Layers that way it wont snap off on hard landings , also the nose section is wrap with packaging tape before the 5mm EPP skin is apply.

notice ailerons would apply when your wings are stiff full span ,in the video I only did 60% span thats why the flex creates an dihedral effect contributing to roll stability

battery is mounted by cutting a hole on the fuse section aft of the nose section and is line with 2 more BBQ sticks

also the bottom of the plane is mounted with a bottom EPP 5mm as skid plate to hide the electronics

Note: ive upgrade to 1300kv bluewonder 3s 8x3.8prop for maximum performance

OCT 23

after several flights and testing ,finally got its Livery

finally tested last feb 10 2013 weekend

Note: ive use 1300kv bluewonder downgrade prop to 6.5x4 prop and put an 2s
still flies ok its just the CG went back a little on a lighter battery.
slower flights and tighter turns ,great for smaller fields

not the most recommended setup since its slightly underpowered

also the Dihedral is cause by the wing flexing and not intentionally force upwards. which gives extra stability since I fly on 3ch on this

Stands out better in the RC field as a in field avatar/signature.
tells people im in the field.

im sure the refit would improve structural and control handling
servos are move to the tail for shorter control rod, the tail is now conventional . While the twin boom added extra 9mm foam.

well a closer view of the changes . you can apply on to the original pdf plans , this an simpler improve configuration.
