Help!

unknown motors

Anyone know who made these motors and maybe a age timeline. There are no markings on them but look like a .049 size.

I think those are Fox .07 engines from 1961+. The .07 and .049 look very similar, but according to the American Model Engine Encyclopedia the .049 crankcase top is level with the venturi web, but yours are higher. Their bores are different also: the .049 bore is about 13/32" and the .07 about 15/32".

That is interesting didn't know they could be foxes. The heads seem to be larger and there is like a rivet on the piston center. They are identical to the comet. 07 I found. Thanks for the help.

Gilberts have rear intakes. Fox made engines for Comet planes.

Suggest you Google "Fox .07 engine". There's 30,900 results including a very informative thread at stunthanger.

If someone is into Vintage Radio Control Society (VR/CS), those engines then are true keepers. The ones with lugs have a slight resemblance to the Enya .049, which I imagine came later.
