Yes, 1280MHz for video, but don't now how much power on my Tx, just marked as 1000mW.
And more important, i have upgraded Rx (by SAW filter) from readymaderc and good antennas.
Right - what model video TX/RX? Would really like to check out your setup sometime. What kind of antenna on plane, are you using a directional yagi or something on the ground?

Video Tx and Rx (upgraded) i bought on readymaderc.com, don't have any idea what model - something from China.
Antenna on video Tx - is a cloverleaf (3 blade), antenna on video Rx -is Helix 9.5 and again from readymaderc.
I don't use a yagi, Helix 9.5 is enough to get that distance.

IL76MD I am guessing the transmitter your flying is this one:
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=922

and as he said antenna's make all the difference, if you don't have a clover (tx) and a helix (rx) you need to try one, or at least see the performance difference. I have the 300mW version and I can easily push 3-4 miles if I went to UHF, as is 72mhz only going 2 and thats pushing it. But power is not as important as gain on the antenna's, going from 300mw --> 1w is like 1 dB gain, were as you can get like 7bD gain from your antenna amd still have a 70degree beam

Meeting up would be great, we need to set a date.

You are right, and i have used a clover (3blades) on Tx and 9.5 Helix on Rx and could get 18km
w/out problem.
But, I don't now what exact power output on my Tx, cause couldn't check it w/out tool,
never trusted China's numbers on devices.
If I could get at least 40% from those marked as 1000mW would be happy.
I'm available on Saturday afternoon or Sunday, and, actually, flying on these days
depends of the weather (no rain, no tornado alerts, no what else from skies).

Yea, we shouldn't fly DC area, too crowded, but Lurray is the best.
Is it right, Banks?

Well the Skyline is where I want to fly, either up to or off. I have flown up on skyline drive before and its amazing. But with the ban to national parks, not sure how this would work. I do know this, it shuts down in Nov for the winter and I am sure no one would bother us.

Yes, it is the excellent idea. BTW do you know places on SkyLine where could be good for landing (preferable on top of the hill), it should be at least 50-100m strip?
Thanks.
