Truckable Towboat ~ 1/24

Here we go...
I started on the superstructure because I'm still weighing my propulsion options. Just got a couple of boxes built today. Used a chisel and the parts popped off the tree nice and clean. A little sanding and I was ready for glue.

I would run that direct Pittman. The 400 is going to be very loud......I had to wrap mine in dynamat and it just isn't as clean...

Got a little something done today. Knocked the edge off the motor house, and started on the pilot house roof.

Using the supplied roof, I traced the outer edge onto some cardboard. Decided a on the rear and on the front would be more than enough overhang. I cut out a section of the template so I could connect the front and sides. I transferred it to a piece of .030 styrene, and then scored it deep and wide to allow the plastic to bend. It worked OK, but ended up breaking off anyway. I glued the snot out of it to make it whole again, and it fit fine. Nothing a little Evercoat can't fix. The top is screaming, vac-u-form.

With a modification, by way of making the bottom flat, it could be done as a resin piece. That would be stronger, and easier to make, than a vacume formed piece, and still have the sexy look. CB
