Hey guys. Would anyone who also owns the Skywing MXS V2 care to compare this to the new Edge 540. I am very happy with my MXS performance wise and wonder how this new model compares. If you guys think it's as good to fly as the MXS then I'll pull the trigger, I love the MXS, it's just, well a bit square :-). This Edge looks awesome, plus the hardware kit looks really good quality. Thanks for any thoughts

Yes it would be interesting to know. It looks comparable to buying MG Corona's, Plush and NTM Propdrive from HK

Is the Skywing branded Edge 540 the same as the Wattaplane branded Edge 540, just different colours?

While this plane is made in part from foam, and has many of the advantages of a foam plane, it is also consturcted like a normal balsa framed plane with a large fuselage and different covering material.

Consequently, I think somebody should post a thread in the 3D flying section, to get more exposure. This plane really looks like a winner judging from some of the flight videos I'm seeing.

I ordered the blue/black combo version and I received an email saying that it has shipped. Now the waiting begins......It's a looong way from Hong Kong to CT.

I've used that motor on a few of these planes. It works well with an APC 13x6.5E prop.

I haven't used that ESC or those servos before, though the servos look pretty similar to MG14 servos, which are a good value option of these sorts of planes.

Thanks. I had another look and put the stuff through the cart at best value. It comes in at a reasonable price shipped to the UK. $150/93 plane only or $246/152 for the combo. I've used a lot of the TowerPro MG90 servos in my Telinks, not a bad servo but I think this plane probably deserves something a little better. Might still go for the combo and just use the servos in something else. Do you think this motor would be a good choice though? I could save some by going with this as I probably have an esc and servos laying around.
