What goes up, must come down

I had the tube laying around, if I had 10X10mm carbon I probably would have used it.

i was inspired by ecalc, calc algo is very similar, but I've been tried to do more user friendly interface and features.

Baby H

Just finished airframe tonight......a baby H-Quad based on the 1811s so popular now.

240 mm span
170 mm MTM

Weight so far: 140 grams

Simple basswood and pine body with nylon bolts holding two aluminum cross arms. It seems very stiff over all and is easy to replace arms.

Will be adding Plush 10a's , FLIP Wii and 2S 800/1000 mah pack.

I hope 2S will be enough. I plan on being under 260gram AUW in the end.

** I'm not sure if I'm liking the zip ties for motor mounts....

260 on 2s should be ok, if not you can use 6x3's for pros ( if not already ).

Balance the props and you need more for motor mount to lock the motors in place or else the will work themselves right off the arm, trust me.

I'll grab some 6x3 next order

I'll try to build up the base of the motor mounts for more bite for zips.

It's a pain in the *ss to balance these 5in props.

Thanks

Just don't use 6x3's if you plan on 3s, I don't know if it can handle it. The gemfan's are easier to balance than the HK 5x3's I used at first.

The props are from gothelirc. I haven't even tried to balance the 5x3x3s yet !

I'm using a magnetic type balancer and a regular pivot type balance and I can't seem to get a good solid balance.

Just checked out your calc again ... and it looks like your motor selection method addresses the biggest beef I had with ecalc. With so many motors being knock-offs of some original, I've found it hard to find the motor I'd like to model (cause I didn't know who made it originally). So I think I'm going to be using yours as my default from now on.

Thanks for that.

cheers,
Andrew

Much better with all the motor choices including the dt750's.

What does it mean when it says 'For good maneuverability you need Throttle of less than 80%' ?
I obviously understand the words but i dont know if it means its got too much power after 80% or something else. It seems to say not enough power to hover or the above.

It would be good to be able to do time calcs at 50% power or even 75%. Also maybe a search feature on the motors so you dont have to scroll through the entire list each time which im finding painful to do on my phone.
