A123 2300mAh rec pack $16.73??

So went to Hobby King to get a A123 receiver pack for a new project expecting to pay $31.00 ea. but was pleasantly surprised that once logged in & put in the cart it was $16.73.

I bought 5 as I've used these before and no issues.

I'm not sure if it's just my lucky day but maybe someone else can try it and post back if it works for you too.

Happy flights!

My price came up $18.02.
Either way I wouldn't trust the battery. I never heard of the manufacturer and they may not be true A123 cells. I wouldn't put it in one of my planes.

Lith-ion in all actuality and 1/5 scale P-51D and 1/4 scale Cub both running them for over a year and no problem and long run times.

So they must be on closeout or something.

most exalted one
Olevin is the new manufacturer of A123. Enerland is also on there. That said they would be $22+ shipped for me and I can get 2300 with balance and better leads for $26 shipped elsewhere, so HK isn't competitive for me in this case.
That $31 price was baloney.

How do you balance these packs? I am only seeing that they have a discharge plug.........

I guess you hope both cells were at the same capacity level when assembled ! The A123 packs I use have a tap on them.
I also thought Enerland stopped making lithium cells?

That's one drawback. You have to install your own balance plug. Piece of cake.

Of course for that price you could just charge it until you lose one cell!
