New ME-262 From Freewing!!

Looks like Freewing has a new ME-262 coming out sometime soon!!
Photos from the 2012 Ninth Shanghai International Model Exhibition.

Looks to me to be a bit smaller than the Dynam ME-262. Hard to tell though.

Of course! Now all the Chinese manufacturers have to come out with the same model.

The nacelles and wings look nice and scale, but something looks funny with the canopy.

I agree that canopy really stands out.
I wonder what size fans they're using?

I'd put money on the same fans & motors that are in the SU-35. LOl I installed them in my Dynam 262.

Nice find, CHN.

The wimgspan looks pretty close to the Dynam. Looks like a home run as far as the fans; the inlets are much closer to scale and the wing looks a lot more scale as well. Looks like they fitted a nose gear bay door also. The canopy looks wrong; maybe too tall and a little too far back? It should be an easy fix, maybe they'll fix it before the first batch is out.

I checked their web site, there's no information about this plane yet. I'm guessing they're using their 70 mm fans with a 6S set up or maybe the 64 mm fans with a lower kv motor and 4S? The fan inlets almost look too small for 70 mm fans. Now, the waiting begins...

The nacelles look better than Dynam but the canopy sucks.

Here is another pic of the bird.

My "spy" told me that the plane uses 70mm EDFs and that the gear looks very nice.

But - as you guys already noticed - the canopy might be wrong. I say might because the pics suggest that it is so but do not prove it as they are all taken at an angle. A sideview would be needed to be able to really tell. The Me262 tends to look odd here and there when shown from certain angles...

The fuselage and wing shape looks a lot nicer than the somewhat wrong Dynam bird. The nacelles look nice with a scale inlet diameter, however note the cheater holes on the inboard sides of the nacelles... that is not a good sign

Oh and btw: the cannons are wrong... there were just streamlined holes in the nose without gun barrels sticking out

Wingspan:1500mm , 59" (same as Dynam)
Length:1280mm, 50-3/8" (4mm less than the Dynam)
Flying weight 2900g (2400 quoted for the Dynam), so the wing loading is very slightly more, presumably because of better quality and decent retracts, a small price to pay for a big plus, in my book!

The paint job is far and away better than the dynam. It's just a pity the canopy isn't the right shape!

Amped UP!
Cool to see this bird offered by another. Way back when, I was all over the GWS version of this bird with its way too big nacalles and all. I really like this one is almost 70" in span.

Here is the listing on the Freewing site:

Kind of weird that they pay so much attention to the nacelles to then add that Jetson's family canopy... the guns are wrong also and the nose looks weird with that small cap on it.

I wish they would do the same as FMS and ask their customers for help when it comes to scale fidelity.

Oh well

It certainly wouldn't be there on the final production product for law compliance reasons.

Lots of pics there, very good... or not... the model is actually great, but the oversized canopy with the too-steep-windshield sucks big time. And so does the nose and the gun ports with those little barrels sticking out and the little cap on the nose...

See the attached pics of a CAD-model and blueprints for reference.
