Excellent words of advice, Gentlemen; I applied them.....and was allowed (!) to order a Dhc 2 Beaver last night!! Found one at Modelmaniacs in the UK, very reasonable price ( unlike their eBay listing for the same model....!) .
Admittedly I did have to do some fancy talking to get round the fact my Wife remembered how disappointed I was following the Fms Beaver release " thought you didn't like the Beaver?!! You said it was hardly a warbird etc ( I normally lurk on that forum, mostly) - I countered with, super scale detail, still a 1.5 + meter wingspan..and it COMES with the floats, unlike The FMS bird. And it's very good value. ( I have the Flyzone Corsair and Fw 190; love 'em!!)And the thread is over a THOUSAND pages, so it must be popular!! Plus it's the only model I didn't have of aircraft I've flown in. Game , set and Model to me!! I can't wait for the big brown box to arrive now, trying to read up on this awesome thread, but if anyone wants to tell me any problems or tips for this lovely model, please feel free ! Blue Skies! Thanks for the kind welcome, and the excellent link; that's perfect!! Well done , Pete; there's a similar page on the Avios Seafury thread over on Warbirds - always thought it's the way all threads should go, especially after they go over say 200 pages.
Nice work Gentlemen, much appreciated!! Being a bit of a scale nut, now I can't think why I didn't go after this model sooner - it ticks all the boxes! Right, I'm off to read up some more....and try and remember where I stashed my model wasp engines! Blue Skies! Captain Boogaloo |

Biggest tip right off: replace the factory gear/float mounting screws with a comparable size in steel, and lube them (bar soap or silicone or something else plastic-safe) before driving them in.
