Got my HW 40A ESC yesterday in the mail. Removed the Stock 20A ESC and wired in the new HW 40A ESC. Pulling 19A and 206W. I was actually getting 215W on the 20A ESC, but was #2 Pack. Today I tested on #1, so might be a little difference in pack strength. Not sure yet.

So was disappointed in the power, since some other guy gained 74W when he went to a 40A from the Stock. Can't verify the accuracy of that, so who knows. At least I know I would have fried the Stock ESC soon running it at Max all the time. Not even breaking a sweat now.

So since I didn't gain what I was hoping for, went All In on a Don's Wicked 6000Kv with the Wemo Fan. Included the Mount and Balance.

Now the thread owner on the 50mm thread is saying I should have just gone 4S and I would have been lighter and got the same power. Said he runs all his 50mm on 4S Stock. Told him I was worried about the fan. Found it out of round and ground off a little from one spot. Also leading edge damage to a blade from an ingested pebble on first failed launch/landing with the 1800 25C's. So Fan really needed replaced anyway.

An equal 4S 1000 is 1.79oz heavier. Not sure how much the Stock Motor and Fan weighs, forgot to weigh them when I had them out. Not sure how much the new Combo weighs. At 350 Watts and 32A it shouldn't matter, since I was almost over the hump on Stock setup using the 30C packs.

The F-22 will make a good test bed. Already took body damage testing with the 1800's so will get the power setup I want and play with it. Later maybe get a new airframe, although after some paint today it's a little better.

I ran my AMX on 3s WeMoTec for a long time and its fine. It was just the right amount of speed and thrust. 4s is fun and ballistic but, like I said earlier the Raptor will never be that. If you want something ballistic then get the Katana or Screamer. The Screamer is supposed to be the fastest on 3s.

What's an AMX?

I don't want a Balistic F-22, just reserve power so when I pull vertical it won't stall and will continue to climb on sheer power.

This guy was saying the 4S setup is lighter because the Wicked/Wemo is heavier and he is getting almost the same wattage just by using a 4S 800. I think I will have the more powerful setup at 360W, maybe a tad heavier, but figured that would help it in the wind.



How's your mom and daughter doing now?

My Daughter is all better. She just got 4th all-round in a gymnastics meet and second on the bars.
As for my mom she's better and doing well for the most part. Thanks for asking.

My Wicked 6000Kv and Wemo Fan should be here by tomorrow already....


For good measure ordered a new Rhino 3S 2260 Transmitter Lipo (mine is like 2 .5 yrs old) and it has already shipped too.

well um. it flys pretty darn good but i used the electronics i had(HXT 500s and 1 9 gram servo and a 17 gram 2000kv motor) its kinda under powered. wont pull out of a hover on the last minute of the battery amd im afraid to upgrade the motor to a slightly bigger one because its already .2 OZ over weight.

The motor twisted sells for it has tons of power at 19 grams and the Hacker a10-9L is only only 20 grams and it good power to. What does your lite weight now?
