D,

I use a copper/aluminum tube sharpened on one end to push thru the foam to cut the hole for the wire to fit into the duct or fuselage cavity. Just about everything else you outlined in your highlighted post is parallel to what I learned and figured out. BTW just twist the tube as you push it in and it cuts a hole pretty clean.

Cheers,
Eric B.

I like that method too. works awesome. I've also heated it with a Bic lighter and that works good too, but you gotta watch out for burning the foam.

D,

Thanks for the reference links. I want to try that, your cut pieces look great. I recently acquired hot wire equipment for wing cutting and a wire cut table for fuse sections. I will be in touch for some section patterns to try out. Rock on with the Dart it looks great!!!

Juggling a lot of different projects lately.

Got this back onto the table yesterday. Got the power system all fine tuned, checked ,double check, triple check and installed. As its a one time install,

I wrapped this design as tight as i could to the power system. So im dealing with 2-3mm wall thickness around the shroud So no hatch.

This was installed before gluing the remaining sections together.
Ill come back later and cut out an area for the esc and wire routing.

I increased my wing chord thickness after the intial cad work.
So if i choose i can install These mini retracts at a later date.

Got the wood roots install onto the Fus, with the new chord thickness i laminated some 3mm derpon and sanded to the root rib to blend it all in.

The wing cores got there wood treatments around the LE,TE and root.

Now to get some filler on her and get to glassing.
