@ Luv,
Ive spent the last 14yrs on and off 3d/2d work, ive spent tons of hrs from Maya, Bryce,Lightwave, 3ds Studio max Illustrator you name it...

Each and every piece of software was total frightening with everyone i was greeted by a new set of new Viewports, buttons, interfaces, windows.

Google Sketch Up is by far is they easiest to grasp, and has all the functionality we need to be as complex or as simple as we want with our models. it just amounts to time.

The other plus is there is ton of online How To's, video tutorials for SketchUp.

Just got to dig in, ive only been using sketchup maybe 150hrs

Rich,

You really should give sketchup a try. There is a built in tutorial, and probably hundreds if not thousands of lessons on Youtube. It's about as close to pen and paper on a computer as you can get. Add a couple of the available plug-ins and it's really impressive what you can do. Not to mention a pretty helpful community.

Alright, alright, I'll give it a shot. LOL. I'll let you know how it goes. Hell, if a total PC braindead like me can grasp it, anyone can. LOL.

Not to get to far of the OP's thread, but D_FAST, what's the chance you could do a thread here just to show US less gifted, a glimps of what it can do.

Something using a 3-view. Doesn't have to be step by step. A teaser.
Is it possible to get cross sections using Sketch-Up?

Yes you can get cross sections. Here is a great thread right on RCG.

Thanks, wasn't sure it was possible. Worth taking the time to learn it.

D-Fast,

Incredible hot wire work. Can you show more on how your setup works for the sections and how you get the contour shapes to come out so perfect? I built a 70mm some years ago. The Dart is a classic delta design and flies great. I also like the way you are cutting in the ducts and wing mounts. Very nice.
