Question

Welder Glue

Running low on my tube and want to finish a Twisted Hobby Sbach. Very nice kit BTW! Local hardware store doesn't have it.
What can I use as a proper substitute?

Thanks! Gino

Gorilla Glue, fast cure(white) or regular(yellow) will do, UHU Por is another good option, but it's even harder to find in North America

If you have a Home Depot or Lowes in your area, did you try them? Both stores have it where I live.

I like foam-tac. Great stuff - have to order it online though. It's pretty cheap, so you can stock up and avoid the problem in the future.

My local Lowes ran out of Welder. The clerk recommended me the "Amazing Goop" blue tube one. Now I am using it in all my EPP/EPO planes without a problem.

BTW, STLAV8R, I found I cannot remove my eyes from your avatar..what did you say in your response?

Goop is another option. Very similar to Welders, but it dries quicker. One thing I like about it though is that it doesn't yellow from UV exposure. Pep Boys and Kragen (automotive stores) carry it.

Another consideration. Beacon's 3 in 1 glue. Very similar in consistency to Welder's, but hardly any odor. Unlike Welder's, can be used on any foam. Sets to a hold in about 20 minutes. Full tack overnight. Dries clear with a semi hard, vinyl like density. I far as I can tell does not yellow like Welder's does with time. Sold at hobby and craft stores like Hobby Lobby. $4 bucks gets you a large 4 oz. bottle. I like it better than anything else I've tried. Found out about it from RC Foam website. Figured it must be pretty good if they were recommending it. They sell it on their website, as well.

Went to Wally World & Home Depot, neither had it. Got some blue tube Goop.

Thanks for the help!

I think so. I've never used foam-tac, but a friend has, and said the two products seemed to be the same or close to it.
