New Foxtech Disc Type Motors available, free sample for reviews

Hi, Guys,

I am proud to post here that the foxtech 4822- kv390, 4822-kv690 and 4830 kv- 370 motors are ready for shipping.

4822- kv390 and 4830 kv- 370 are suitable for 6S lipo,
on our Platypus quadcopter ,we made a 16 minutes fly with 6S 2200mah lipo using 4822 KV390 and CF 1245 propeller
and we also got around 28 mins fly time with 6S 5000mah lipo with the same setup.

we successfully lifted 2.5kg paper with the above frame and after a 5 minutes test, the motor doesn't get hot at all

FOXTECH MOTOR Disc type 4822 high efficiency multirotor motor. (1 min 46 sec)

[
Platypus X650 V4 Duration Test (3 min 40 sec)

the 4822-kv690 is suitable for 3s and 4s setup, 11-13 inch propeller. the 4830 -kv370 is a gentle monster, we only tested the lifting power with 1540 propeller so far and the efficiency is amazing, with reasonable bigger pitch propeller like 1555 or 1575 ,you can get more lifting power and of course with more current comsuption.
.

How we mounted it on the platypus quadcopter

The only thing you need to pay attension is, due to the big torque of disc type motors, you will need wooden or Carbon fiber propellers ,the normal nylon propellers like APC 1238 bended in the load test and caused power losing.

we have some sample motors for testing and reviews,
if you are interested in it, please follow this thread and show your best testing videos or reviews here.
we will choose the most suitable testers or reviewers,
We like some testing or comparison videos with current ,voltage and pulling force data etc
and if you are not selected, don't worry ,we may also contact you for further product tests.

the sample motors are :
8x 4822- kv 690
8x 4822-kv390
4x 4830-kv 370
12x 3536-kv 700

you can find all motor link as below :

and leave your test request in this thread ,
we will stop accept testers before Sep. 10th

Finally , my friends, I hope you will like our new products and give us timely feedback.

thanks
Fu

it's a new type ,I don't know what motor are you talking about ,but these motors use high end bearings(not any cheap bearings made in China) and perfectly balanced before shipping, if you check the photo carefully, you will see a small blue dot on one motor, that's for balancing.

you can at most use the 3536 type, any 4822 or 4830 type is too big for your frame.

we have local guys using XA 650 frame or our platypus 650mm quadcopter frame with 4822 motor with great success.
thanks

not really, the original HL has thinner case, and this specially made type has stronger case(0.5mm thicker) that it survives a lot better during crash. and there is also 50cm long silicon wire for easy mounting, which is also thicker than the original.
also included 3.5 mm bullet heads as spare parts.
you will find it really worthy for the price
we know multirotor well and we want to make the best product for guys.

foxtech motors for review

We just built this 625mm hexa outfitted with Tiger T-motor, MT4006-13 (740 kv). These motors are strong and fly very nice with 4s and 11x3.8 APC props. We are in process of building 2 additional platforms and would be willing to try your motors. We would provide video, with complete details, reviews, etc on the capabilities of your motor that is compatible to the ones we are currently testing. These platforms being tested will be utilized for AP use.
Let me know your thoughts and if we can be of service in testing.
Jared

Let me also say that we had results of 15 min. flight time with these motors on 4s 4500mah in parallel (9000mah) and total AUW of 5.6 lbs
(platform, gimbal, camera)(gaui gimbal - crane 3, sony nex-5)

Very very impressive .. 1kg of thrust with only 6 amps .. 6kg with 36 amps on a hexa .. maybe 3kg max AUW. Interesting that you still list the MT4008 on your site, which had been my choice for a future build. Hopefully, we will eventually see some independent test comparisons between these purpose designed premium motors.

Even the Tiger MT's do not specify test conditions like power source, or if the testing is down in ground effect and Air Density Altitude. I'm not just being pedantic here .. the vendors use charts as a marketing function by which we are supposed to make informed purchasing decisions. I have purchased One MT4008 for testing for the November build, but certainly I am open to considering other viable alternatives.

We all know that re-branding is a national pastime in China .. certainly makes it interesting .. certainly GM would never do that (Opel Maryland) Given the growth of the hobby and the plethora of products and vendors, it would be helpful if there were some standards for test stands or something along that line, so that all the vendors product specifications could be legitimately compared.

Investing $510 in a set of MT4008's is not chicken feed, but for a premium build it is worthy of consideration if the performance is there. I am very pleased to see another vendor enter this market .. competition spurs innovation and hopefully competitive pricing.

Wishing you All the Best Foxtech ...
