HT-FPV - best battery size?

Just wondering what size battery everyone is using for their HT-FPV frame? In the process of building mine with 1000kv motors, Hero2, and standard FPV gear.

I am considering a 4000mah 3s.

I presently fly single rotor on occasion, but am new to multis. I want to maximize flight time as much as possible, but obviously want to not feel too much like a flying brick.

Using the calculator, I'm getting about 9mins hover time with the proposed 4000mah. What's your real-world experience like?

Depends on size of motors (not kv) ... I use a 2800mah 3s and that seems about as big as I want to go unless I switch to 4s and larger lower kv motors.

Im running 3300mah 4s on 2212 850kv motors swinging 9x4.7 props....full fpv gear and gopro for video...I'm getting around 7or8 minutes...maybe a little less depending on how aggressive i fly

Great, thanks for the feedback! I'd be looking at 2217 motors w/ 9x4.7 props.
