Won't air speed overcome this, and load the fan to the point the 18blades bite more air and produce more thrust?

Hmmm, mine in air was like this on the bench the static thrust numbers weren't great after 1800 watts.

I couldn't tell any real difference in speed in the airframe it was in...

As it turns out so far the v2 cs fan is worse than the cs12 performancewise

i guess the best way is to test it in flight.....

Will wait if anyone can testflight and let us know...looking forward!

Jet's are cool!

just got mine!

I would like to preface this by saying that I am not that experienced in EDF's. I have 3 70mm jets Airfield f-16, Tomahawk Viper and a Dynam Me-262. All have CS 10's with different motors. I love the sound of the CS fans. I also have 2 jetfan 90's, only one of which is installed and flying. After taking this "SMARTFAN" out of the box, it initially looks very nice, but two things stick out very glaringly to me. I acknowledge these have already been brought up. The first thing is the rotor shroud gap....WOW. Measuring from the middle of one blade to 180 degrees the other side is 89.49mm. The I.D. of the shroud is 92.80-84mm. The second is how flexible the 18 blades are. To me they are way more flexible than the CS 10 and not even in the same universe as the Jetfan. I bought this before seeing JCFRD's test #s and I regret doing that. In my humble opinion I think the only way this fan will make decent power is with the 9 blades they are much stiffer but will probably not sound as good as the CS 12. This is just my humble opinion, I hope that I am proven wrong.!

You are a "go" for reentry

The Eurofighter that V8 used is bifurcated and he has yet to fly it. The multi blades seemed to do well with bifurcated so it may be the same here or do better dynamically with a different exhaust, smaller or larger. Like it was said, try it and fly it to confirm where it may fit in.

Can anyone how has flown the 18blade fan and the old cs12 fan, compare the sound of both fans in the air? Is the sound of the 18blade fan better than the cs12, or are they around the same?

I'm still working on getting mine tuned and running smooth, it proving frustrating. I'll post a vid asap. But by my #s and JC's #s doesn't look to be good thrust wise vs the Cs12 so the only advantage it may have is sound.

but dint you get the same thrust on the cs12 and the cs18 on the eurofighter around 2.5k on both fans with lower amps on the cs18?

thanks for the vid, you are geting a lot of resonance throug the airframe try mounting the fan isolated from the hard wood block with some ruber gormets. that way the frame wont amplify the resonance from the fan.

close just a lil less thrust on the cs18 on less amps and watts.

ya the resonance was prevalent. The fan was basically secured by the dbl sided tape and the motor hatch. So it wasn't totally balanced perfectly also. Didn't want to post vid because it wasn't that great but i was just trying to show it sounded different than the cs12 regardless of the resonance.
