How does $10.00 shipped sound? I have this one from DealExtreme and it is perfectly adequate for this kind of application.

When I looked for a scale I came across this in the Composites Fabrication forum. I think most all these scales are the same, but check it out, it worked for me.

Mean to also say you should also consider getting their 5 gram calibration weight. Gives a bit of confidence in the thing.

its really only critical that all blades weighed are exactly the same weight

Agreed.

Problem is these cheapies can drift a bit over time and temp. A fixed weight (any weight, really) that you can come back to will verify that your qualitative measurements are valid. For example I've seen a 0.02 gram variance over the course of 15 minutes.

Make sure you aren't breathing on it as you use it!

Another assembly is being sent out to me now so will be able to run it up in my 5 stator alloy housing soon as it arrives. Looking forward to running the 18 blade configuration!

not on mine, I thought maybe it was just tight fit but no its one piece, at least the one I received
ok well when you get our scale then just get all blades equal weights and try again.

well I am throwing together a thrust test stand to play with this fan so should have some numbers pretty soon..... I hope

It may be a tight fit. Okay hard to explain...circular portion that houses the grub screws and the circular portion above that ate one piece. The next circular aluminumportion that is flush with the blades is the washer. I had to put it in an aluminum vice just wider than the circular portion above the grubs screws, not the washer that is flush with the blades. I slowly tapped it with a rubber mallet and it slid out.
