engine recommendation for60 size TF Corsair


i have a new 60 size Top Flight Corsair ARF. i'd like to put either a four cycle FS 95 on it or possibly a DLE 20 gas engine. the DLE is ~6 oz. heavier.
i'd like to run a scale like 3 blade prop if that makes any difference.
any recommendations. thanks.

I like the four stroke for the torque. A 95 should be plenty, I fly a Funtana 60 size plane with a Thunder Tiger 91 FS using a 16X4 prop.

I have a DLE 20 in a competitors Corsair and it flies great with a 16x8 3-blade.

The OS 95 Four stroke sounds like an excellent choice . I may be tempted to go with a YS 91AC thru 1.15 AC just for big grins ! Of course with that power on tap , balanced control surfaces would be a consideration ...

The YS will twist a very hefty prop .

I have two of the OS 95V four strokes, one in the TF 60 size P-47 and one in the GP Revolver 70. They are great engines with lots of power and great reliability. I am flying with an APC 14x7 and getting good performance. I am looking at the GP Corsair and if I get it I will definitly be putting an OS 95V in it.

Well, if you don't want your nice looking warbird to sound like a chain saw in the air, go for the four stroke. In that size, the fuel costs are still bearable. O.S. does not need more than 10% nitro, if you are not looking for the absolute peak power performance, and consumption is really low for the size. Of course gas would still be cheaper, but in my opinion, a warbird with 2-stroke engine just sounds wrong. But that is my opinion, feel free to have your own.

I have a Top Flight with DLE-20 in it. It flys great, lots of power and it sounds good too.

This is NOT my plane, but it is the same combo. Sound good to me.

right not i got a revolver 70 with the dle 20 and i had a few issues with it but they where not that big of a deal. In my garage i have the tf corsair 60 ARF about 90% finish
ROBART just told me that the electric retracts for this tf corsair are coming out in december 2012
I have about 4 emails from robart saying that the robart 810 electrics for the tf corsair 60 will be out in the next month or two.....but they never came out......the newer giant tf corsair came out months later and they all ready have the electric retracts for it !!!
i have been waiting for these retracts for about 1 year

Back to the subject......
I have been reading a lot on the new Saito FG-21 (not to be confuse with the FG-20)
Is a gas engine and is a Four Stroke

What do you guys/girls think on this Saito FG-21???

Thanks to all the weighed in on the engine choice. i'm really looking forward to the warbird sound so i'll probably to for a 4 cycle on this one.
Also good to know about the electric retracts. i'm interested in those also.
