Some more progress on the whip. I got the servo tray sorted along with the ballast tube.

I installed a light ply block in the tail along with some 4-40 blind nuts to accept the vtail.

I need to do a bit more work on the ballast tube and cut the hinge line in the tails and get those mounted up.

This is turning out to be one cool looking WHIP. Love the carbon servo tray, tips, and tails. The ballast tube is too nice to hide

Here are a few more shot's from the last few hours progress. I'm hoping to have the Vtails assembled and the center of them glassed to the ply block tonight.

After that all I have to do is pushrods, and wiring.

Adam, I'm coming up short on control horns for the wing.

Got Horns

I have some horns that might work. I think they might even be carbon fiber. I'll dig them out in the morning. No run of the mill horns for this bird.

The tails hinge looks sharp...how did you do that?

Adam

Found the horns. I have two sets from hilaunch.com. One set each; flaps and ailerons. Black composite material.

I taped a ruler to it and used a razor saw, takes a lot of patience.

Made awesome progress today! I got the Vtails cut at the right angles, elevators cut. Glued the tails to the ply base and glassed them up with some carbon powder mixed in just to keep things looking black.

So you sandwich mounted the V-Tail between your top ply and the fuse? I like it.

can I ask how you got rid of the bump where the shorter glass layer is?

my building is very newbie at this stage and all hints are appreciated.
I went with the balsa glassed as per instructions but don't want to add too much extra weight to the tail.

very professional build, congratulations.
