I'm still setting trim, so the data are still a work in process.

I'm running full throttle sparingly - only a few seconds at a time.

Last time, the max was about 50 amps and 700 watts. Way more than necessary, but nice to have the extra power to pull away from that big oak tree.

Build Help Questions


I am just finishing the wing, and noticed that the flap servo cover is slotted, but the aileron cover is not. Is this slot really needed, or can it be covered? Also, I see that plastic covers are provided to streamline the control clevis on the flaps and ailerons, but what are the two other plastic "bumps" for?

Ok, so I picked up everything yesterday to start my build. The one question I'm curious about is what does everyone like to use to glue the wing servos in, epoxy, welders, etc?

I used Epoxy per the manual. The idea was that they could pop free if there is a hard crash.

Newbie Question


Its been a slow process but I'm slowly getting there.

I deternined that @ CG 120 mm, I need about 45 grams of weight. The battery is as far as it will go. Is this resonable amount of weight ??

Most are nose heavy, so needing weight is usually not needed. If you are trying to get weight aft, then a lighter battery and/or ESC helps a lot. Mine is perfectly ballanced with both a 4S 1350 65C near the motor and a 2200 35C battery (same weight as the stock 3S) near the servos. I did use a CC Ice 50 Lite which is much lighter than the recommended E-Flite 60-Amp ESC.

do you need to add weight in the tail or nose (you didnt mention if the battery is forward or aft as far as it will go)? what battery are you using?

I need it up front.

I just had a thought.

Most 3s 3300mah 45c batteries weigh about 300-320 grams.. I am using a Thunder Power G6 Pro 3s 3300mah 45c battery which weighs 268 grams. Thats about 49 grams differance and I am 45 grams short. MMMM??

It's generally preferred to add weight with batteries or even a heavier motor but, on a 3 meter glider, 45-50 grams won't be much of a hindrance.

Its tail heavy and I thought that was a bad thing..
