$369 is the street price. Back in the day of the obeechi-foam wing gliders, we paid about $400 for the Condor, Thermal Eagle, Falcon 880, Sapphire. There was some building to do and servos to buy and install. Especially allowing for inflation, the price looks reasonable to me and I'll probably get one.

Do you mix Flaps with Aileron (full wings) when you make turn?

Enough length of the motor's axle?

I noticed the firewall of the fuselage is thicker than normal, which means the motor's axle needs to be longer. Did you have trouble for that?

No. This plane needs to fly faster - it is not necessary. It does help if you mix rudder with aileron.

No it works out perfect that axle nut sits in the firewall.

I probably use different motor and spinner. I like the spinner from Multiplex. What is the axle nut that you are talking about? Are you talking about the nut that holds the axle, which is a part of spinner?

Rick/XIA-Mixing ail-flp is the norm on unlimited ships world wide except when you are in landing mode. Mixing the ail-flp has nothing to with the speed of the ship in any mode, full span camber changing has more control of that and you still have ail-flp mixing turned on in cruise, thermal and reflex modes.

I do use some minor ail-rud mixing, but learn to use that left hand and the rudder stick cause just using the mix can bite you in the arse when you need the ship to maintain a coordinated turn in a thermal.

The hinge of the Flaps could only allow about 1mm up movement of the Flaps, so I guess the full span Aileron movement will not be possible for cruise.

When you move the shaft on the power 25 you move the wheel coller to the other side that wheel collar fits in that thick firewall.
I am in the middle of a move so I can't take a picture.

Do you mean other motor might have too short of axle?

Why not? When we were flying foam sheeted wing ships, we could not get alot of up flap to use with the mix, but we did it anyway. I would mix all you could, mix more in thermal mode, and maybe in reflex you can not use it. And if you wanted to make the ship better, uncover the flaps and sand in a more angled face and recover it. No big deal.

I will try tonight to measure length of motor shaft.

Hi guys,
I will be getting a .Mystique in the new year, and I am wondering what sort of power you guys are useing.
I am putting an inrunner thru a gear box, into a warmliner on 4s at about 650-700 watts, wondering how the same set-up would be in the Mystique?

On a thermal glider, the goal of A to F mixing is not so much to get a faster roll but to get the roll you need with less aileron movement on the down stroke. By mixing in about 50% down flap to the down aileron movement you will need less down ailerom movement to achieve the same roll. This produces less adverse yaw and less drag.

1 mm of flap on the up aileron side is enough if that is all you can get. I get maybe 2 mm on my high end molded ships. That is plenty for reflex. And for a to f mixing.

Everything is a compromise. Servos have a limited range of travel. Priority for flap is max down travel for landing. Roll is a secondary use. To get more up you would have to give up some down travel. That would not be the best use of that surface.
