Thats pretty neat. Leave it to an RC'er to always push it a little farther. I bet the guy that designed the Predator Drone was an RC flyer.

Here is a Scratchbuild that I came up with over Christmas.. All spare parts I hade laying around not being used.. old 2010 vintage stuff. Motors are a28l from HK, 9x4.5 gemfan props, Turnigy Plush esc's... and a KK board originally bought for big $$ from Sweden.. how things have changed..

Yeah, I seem to have the same flying skills. Actually I'm a little better now. I just keep hitting the trees. I live out in the woods. Keeps me on my toes.

A little experiment, if this doesn't work I'll just go back to a "T" style which is only a dozen grams heavier. The circle is approximately an 8" radius and even with the unfinished tail it's 49g. Seems a bit "loosy goosy" for my taste, so I'll probably give it a whirl, but end up with a wooden based tri next.

unless you use some sort of carbon rod for stiffeners it will just rip apart from the torque

Its 1/2 inch thick and 1 inch wide in the arms, actually stronger than I expected. I don't think the flight characteristics will be worth the weight savings.

What type of foam is that. It looks pretty dense. Like some kind of hard foam.
