The stilts didn't effect my flying at all, but they did break on the first hard landing. All four broke in the same spot. The updated landing gear is the pool noodle. I dont expect to have any problems with them.

This is my second build. It's a big step up from the 10g motors and 5" props my first one used. Vertical ascent is crazy fast on this thing. I haven't tuned the KK2 for it yet, but it's already super stable. My goal was to build the cheapest quad possible using 10" props and 3s LiPo. (with the KK2.0 I already had)

Thrust to weight ratio: 3.3 to 1

Flight time is still unknown. I flew it hard for 8 minutes and didn't hit 3.3v. Maiden was this morning.

EMax GF2215/25 motors
Hobbywing Skywalker 20A ESCs
Gemfan 10x4.5
DIY birch frame (with screws with rubber caps for legs LOL)
KK 2.0
HobbyKing 6ch TX/RX
GForce 4000mah 3s batteries

I am more than pleased with the results.

This is my very first rc build. Its the rcexplorer tricopter with the modified plans from Colorex, to fit 12mm arms.

Specs:
12mmx 12mm wooden arms, 1.5 glass fiber body
KK 3 board, DT750 motors and APC slowfly 10x4.7
HK A30 esc's with Simon K firmware
MTM about 500mm and auw 915 gram
Devo 8s tx, AX801 rx

Planning to maiden it tomorrow, depending on the weather.

A strange thing I already noticed is that the servo is twitching, even when the board is not armed, is that normal?

The maiden flight was not very succesful. When I try to lift off, the tricopter spins counter clockwise. I tested the gyro's and they are correct. I also tested the rudder input and that's also correct. When I adjust the yaw and roll pot on the board nothing changes. Anybody any idea what can be wrong?

U need to reverse the yaw input on the board, don't know how to do this on that board but that's what u need to find out,
On the kk2 it's from 100 to -100 or something like that.
Nice tricopter!!! Hope you get it in the air soon

wouldn't 5" prop a bit too big for 3s+3500kv?

Depends on the motor. Since this is a 60w motor 5x3 might be too much, a 4x2.5 might be a better fit. Would love to see a review once its flying.

my suggestion will be something like 1800-2200kv for 3s/// or 2s for your motors

Do you mean the Yaw gyro? I checked the yaw response and it seems correct, it turns in the opposite direction of the movement; push tail to the right, motor moves to the left.

I use a keychain cam as my FPV camera and the quality is great.

here's some video from it:
FPV is hard (2 min 48 sec)

You have to get the V2 808 cam, and make sure its not some fake 808 knockoff. This is where I got mine:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180937263580...=p5197.c0.m619

It will only do video out, not audio.
