+1 My thoughts exactly.

The demo flights Saturday and the Funfly flights on Sunday were likely some of my best flying ever and the Extra is a big part of it. :-)

What he said . Just better handling across the board. As for as comparing the Slick vs the 330, they're both great. After installing the fences the gap between the two has closed immensely.

Excuse me, but I'm not the greatest at describing differences in flying charateristics ( there many people more qualified ). Having said that, to me, the Slick is more agile. Being that it has a 44" wingspan it makes sense. The roll rates seem faster, but still handles superbly.

Since trimming the wingspan on my 330 down to 45" the roll rate has surpassed my slick ( larger ailerons ). Both are very forgiven and precise while performing basic 3d maneuvers.

Windaddy,

Well said. Very nice description.

I haven't flown the Extra Slick yet but a club member just got the Edge 540 which is very similar and I'm really looking forward to getting a flight on it.

I'm pretty sure the Edge is actually the same airframe as the Slick, just different graphics.

So whats the word on the motors? 70g or 100g best? Do you think my Omega 72g will be plenty powerful?

Seriously though, i used the 78 gram 1100kv motor from twisted on the Extra slick which is about the same weight and it had a lot of power. The Omega should be about the same if not better.

I have a Omega 72 I'm thinking about trying. I think its 430 watts. Compared to the Twisted motor I think its like a 100 watts more.

I think the 72g Omega should work fine. I have one on my 42" AJ Slick (AUW 33oz) and it 3d's pretty well.

I think the wattage is similar to the Telink 79g motor (350 according to my watt meter). You might get the 430watts out of a 103g motor but likely not a motor in the 72-79 gram range. Think I need to put the watt meter on the 72g Omega to find out for sure. :-)
