Update:

Got my 2200mah lipos (6 oz.) and really like them in the Extra 330. Had to move them back 1" from where the 1800's mount but really like the increase in power and they finish my 5 1/2 minute flight times pretty strong as well being nice and cool.

Note: Using the 79g Telink motor.

KE Spin... I will have to weigh my 2200 packs.. I was pretty happy with how it felt in the air as well with the big packs, especially when it was "breezy" out...

Sorry but a batteries mah rating has no effect on power, just flight time. Power comes from the C rating or how many cells a battery has.

But I would have though that say an 1800mah 25C would give you so much power for a given set up but if you ran a 2200mah 25C on the same set up it would be able to hold it's voltage better therefore giving you more power. Whether that power makes up for the extra weight or not is a different matter.

No: for a given "C" rating, a higher capacity pack has a lower internal resistance.

Yes, I have heard that for number of years but find it is just simply not completely true. Here's a little test for you. Put a 1000mah battery in your 330 and go fly...then put a 2200mah in your 330 and go fly. Not just longer flight time but MORE power.

For the record, I can see and experience much better verticals with my 30c 2200mah lipos than with my 40c 1800mah lipos.

The C rating can be a little tricky. The ESC will not allow you to fully realize say 60c because the energy would be released too fast and would burn things up. The calculation would tell you that at 60c, the battery would discharge in 1 minute..this does not happen because the ESC regulates the rate of discharge so high C ratings can be somewhat misleading other than lower internal resistance and allowing the battery to perhaps run a little cooler and perhaps shorter charging time.

I will get my watt meter out and see what it says regarding both batteries.

Given two batteries of the same C rating but different capacities, the higher capacity battery is capable of delivering more amps for a longer period and thus more power.

Yes, have to agree with that. Interestingly, my watt meter said that both my 30c 2200's and my 40c 1800's (same name brand and both new with only a few cycles, balanced and charged to 12.6v) initially delivered 350 watts using the Telink 79g motor. Based on C rating alone, the 40c 1800's should have intially delivered more power but did not...it was the same at the 30c 2200's. (As regulated by the ESC at these C ratings).

However, moving toward the end of my 5 1/2 minute flying time the 1800's tailed off (as seen on verticals) but my 2200's remained strong throughout. Yes, there is just more energy available so stronger performance over the run time.

We also have to remember in a test like this that the motor is only going to demand so much, to truly stress test them you would want to use a motor that would theoretically demand as much amps as the largest battery could deliver and then compare that amount of watts to the amount that the smaller battery would deliver. After all a good example would be a 1000 mah 20c batt is capable of 20 amps continuous, but a 1000 mah 30c batt is capable of 30 amps continuous, so a motor capable of drawing say 40 amps would pull the max amount from the batts telling you the real ability of the batts to perform.
