Actually, not all the time. The two antennas are probably nearly as good as a satellite anyways... plus, you're not going to be flying LOS a mile away. Is this plane going to be a gasser?

Is that really necessary? It's a full range RX, has basically the same range as all the other full range ones LOL

It dosen't really matter, unless your doing FPV then which 2.4 control is a bad idea anyway. 72 or 433 are much better for FPV

It depends. I flew FPV on my DX5e out to 2,000 feet with no glitches. Only had a small few glitches at 2,100 feet. And I was using 1.2 GHz for video. As long as you know what you're doing, it can easily be done. It's when people put stuff too close together that they get in trouble... or use 1500 mw vTXs!!!

so, it looks like ar600 would be fine then? it's only a 56" plane so it's not insanely huge, just decently large. I will not be flying it to far away I don't think.

Or an AR400. Does this take 6 channels to fly?

no I don't think so but It would be dual servos for aileron so I could just use a y harness. Is that the best option? I may want to add lights though so I'm not sure whether I'd power them off the Rx or not.

Well... it might be a better idea for such a large plane to use an AR600 and trim each aileron separately... but meh, either way will work.

Guys in the NorthEast - this dealer is in New York and has excellent service from all the reports I've heard. And they carry the Futaba 7C for $205, free shipping
