Indoor Night at NEAT! Saturday September 15th

Cindy and I will be holding the Indoor Night at the NEAT Fair again this year in the Downsville high school gym on Saturday September 15th from 2pm-10pm. The event will feature some of the "Best in Micro" with state of the art micro models.

The event is open to individuals with models built from kits, or models built from their own designs. (No RTF's)

The format will be the same as previous years. We will have time slots for ultra slow models, and open flying for all types.

We will also feature the popular 1/2 time show that allows everyone around 5 minutes to showcase their latest creation for the crowd! (SKS Video should be on hand to film the event)

Models will not weigh more than two ounces, and will have a flight envelope that will allow them to fly safely in the high school gym.

AMA or Park Flyer insurance will be required!

Fee will be $20.00 payable at the registration table. All proceeds will go to the Downsville high school for their education programs.

Anyone interested in flying please e-mail me (Joe Malinchak) to register at Include the models that you are planning on flying and the frequency's you will be using.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the event!

Thanks, Joe.

Hi guys,

Just an update on the indoor event. We have a really big night planned for Saturday evening. The 1/2 time show should be incredible. Matt Keennon is planning on attending. He will be doing a demo flight with his amazing AeroVironment/DARPA Nano Hummingbird that was featured on one of the news shows last year.

Couldn't do the drive with 4$ gas and a 18 mpg Silverado!

Any pictures? How was the turnout?

See you at the JR.

Really enjoyed the indoor event Saturday evening. Great stuff although I don't recall Matt Keenan demonstrating the hummingbird item that Joe referenced (primarily saw him fly his SE-5A). Another year, I need to convince my Dad to bring his contingent of cratch built scale micro flyers. He was in attendance but no planes this year - he could easily have his own table

I heard Matt tell someone that the flyable hummingbird was way too expensive to even bring to NEAT. That was a mockup on the table.

PS. Where's all the pictures? Anybody take any of the Cartoon Scale swarm?

I think that everyone had a good time at this years Indoor Night at NEAT event. The spectator count was down a little from last year, but we had more registered pilots flying! These are a few photos from the event. Sorry for the delay in posting them.

Adam Woodworth won the award for the Best Cartoon scale model with his beautiful Cartoon Scale Fokker DVIII! Sergio Zigras presented him with one of his new 2.4 GHz Receivers.

Sergio was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement award from the Bergen County Silent Fliers.

Where are the rest of the photos? those wood planes look like something Nick Leicthy would build. If you are on FB you can view my 2006 NEAT photos.

Hey I like the Bee biplane from Mr Woodworth, can someone help me find the plans? I would love to build this.

Thank you
